Service provided by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Walk-in intake clinics for children, youth and their families where they can receive a same-day initial assessment by a trained professional in a confidential environment. The program is offered to children and youth aged 0-18 years of age at no cost. It is designed to support children and youth experiencing significant difficulties related to their thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Services include: - intake and referral - consultations - mental health assessment - individual treatment - group treatment - parenting and child interventions Concerns most commonly addressed at these centres include anxiety, depression, severe behaviour problems, psychosis and complex mental health concerns. The Clayoquot Biosphere Trust (CBT) was established in 2000 to assist the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Region communities achieve their visions by providing funding and logistical support for research, education and training initiatives that promote conservation and sustainable development. The Representative for Children and Youth supports children, youth and families who need help in dealing with the child-serving system, provides oversight to the Ministry of Children and Family Development and advocates for improvements to the child-serving system.

Founded in early September 2014, the Long Beach chapter included approximately 7,600 residents of the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Region live between five nuučaan̓uł (Nuu-chah-nulth) First Nations communities hiškʷiiʔatḥ (Hesquiaht First Nation), ʕaaḥuusʔatḥ (Ahousaht) ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ (Tla-o-qui-aht First Nations) Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ (Ucluelet First Nation), and tukʷaaʔatḥ (Toquaht Nation) and two municipalities (Tofino and Ucluelet). The local doctors, who work out of clinics in Tofino, Ucluelet, Ahousaht, Ty-histanis, Hitacu and Macoah while also serving the Emergency Room at Tofino General Hospital, have all become members. Long Beach Chapter is actively working along side the Nuu-Chah-Nulth led Primary Care initiative and in the early stages of launching a Primary Care Network, which will bring some crucial primary care positions to the region. The chapter is particularly looking forward to collaborative partnerships with other health agencies as we develop a truly integrated primary care model.

Combining orthopedic assessment with motor point acupuncture and deep tissue massage techniques, Matt takes a hands-on approach to healing, drawing on the holistic perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Matt had the pleasure of teaching a Sports and Trauma course in Victoria BC, at the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Over the past decade his practice has grown to include fertility and woman’s health as well as into the treatment of children using a needless Japanese style called shonishin.

CHS is the body of member direct services that collectively plan, intake, and organize client/member services in our communities. The hospital Emergency Department is open 24/7 for life-threatening or serious health concerns. Patients are seen based on the urgency of their condition, not the order they arrive. You can also come directly to the Emergency Department. When you arrive, a nurse will check how urgent your condition is. The most serious cases are treated first. - Signs of a stroke (numbness, confusion, trouble speaking) - Chest pain or signs of a heart attack - Major injury or trauma - Mental health crisis - Head injury with loss of consciousness - Pregnancy complications - Feeling unwell and on dialysis - Overdose or poisoning - Sexual assault or rape Wait times can vary. If your condition is not an emergency, you may be encouraged to visit a same-day or urgent care clinic.

RMTs are effective in treating and providing relief for a wide range of disorders such as migraine headaches, tendinitis, arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, and sports injuries, as well as many other common conditions related to soft tissue and joint dysfunction.

Established in 1959, the Tofino Volunteer Fire Department (TVFD) provides fire protection and emergency services to the community of Tofino, as well as motor vehicle rescue along Highway 4. The TVFD maintains a mutual aid agreement for structure fires with the Ucluelet Volunteer Fire Brigade. The TVFD also provides fire protection to the Tla-o-qui-aht communities at Tin Wis, Esowista, and Ty-Histanis.

Family practice clinics provide ongoing care such as general checkups, chronic disease management, reproductive and sexual health, disease prevention, mental health and wellness, and children's health. Care at a family practice clinic is available to patients who are attached to a family doctor or nurse practitioner at the clinic.

t̓uk̓ʷaaʔatḥ have access to various community services, including health, education, family support, and the distribution of traditional foods. We undertake thoughtful infrastructure and economic development projects throughout our ḥaḥuułi, all with the goal of safeguarding our resources for future generations.

The Child and Family Wellness program was created to promote the well-being of children, youth, and families, enabling them to thrive. Our child and family wellness worker meets with them to assess their needs, taking a prevention-based approach by providing support before problems arise.

NTC community nursing Wednesdays Monthly visits from Dr. Marshall / Dr. Blewett.. Regular home and safety assessments for Elders and people with disabilities. Foot care for residents with diabetes and/or mobility issues. Physiotherapy and occupational therapy through various Island Health service providers, with a referral from a medical doctor.

Provides pharmacy services for individuals to obtain, understand and manage their prescriptions. Hours of operation may be subject to change; call ahead to confirm. Also provides naloxone kits to people who use opioids or are likely to witness an overdose. Pharmacists provide kits free-of-charge to people who are eligible, as well as training in overdose recognition and response.

Family practice clinics provide ongoing care such as general checkups, chronic disease management, reproductive and sexual health, disease prevention, mental health and wellness, and children's health. Care at a family practice clinic is available to patients who are attached to a family doctor or nurse practitioner at the clinic.

The Ucluelet Recreation Department offers community events and programs for early years, children, youth, adult and older adults. There are three easy ways for program registration: online, by phone, or in person. Spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis. The Tofino branch opened in 1968. Before this, residents of Tofino received their books in wooden crates shipped by boat. The library branch has been in its current location since 2005.
